Faith and her catfish dog

Tonight, while our friend Basil was eating hot dogs at the Catfish ballpark, we had “catfish dogs” in his honor. Here are some delicious step-by-step photographs.

Fresh catfish fillets

1. FRESH CATFISH FILLETS, with shredded coconut soaked in butter and olive oil.

Hot dog buns

2. HOT DOG BUNS, Sara Lee whole wheat, with garlic butter and grated Parmesan and Romano cheese. Ready for toasting.

Cooked catfish

3. BAKED FISH! Mmmmm, they look delicious! But we’re not done yet.

Sliced catfish

4. SLICED, to fit in toasted hot dog buns.

Faith likes catfish dogs

5. EATEN! Faith had hers with ketchup. (I had mine with basil.)

Happy Basil Night, one and all.

UPDATE: And a tip of the cap to Robert McKenzie.

That looks good enough to eat! Someone’s very creative in the kitchen!
