Sandra Bullock ordered a pizza from her computer in The Net, back in 1995. Today, for the first time ever, I did it. We generally don’t get delivery, but I am laid low with a bad cold. So I swung by Mazzios.com… and entered the 21st century. Mazzio’s website is poorly designed, but I’ll say this: the delivery was prompt, the order was correct, and the pizza was yummy.

Shameful, isn’t it? I have been buying from Papa John’s via the Web for the better, or at least fatter, part of two years; uninspiring interface, but it doesn’t throw random noises at you.
If only I could order Mazzio’s pizza through Papa John’s website, I would have the optimal circumstance.
For slightly more upscale dining, there’s 858togo.com, which covers a couple of dozen local eateries through a single site (or over the phone at 858-TOGO). This has nothing to do with the nation of Togo, incidentally.
Nothing to do with Togo? So I can’t order fufu?
I’m not aware of anyone in town who serves it. (Then again, I’m not exactly the local food critic, either.)
Tell you what, I wouldn’t mind being the local food critic. In fact, I’ve been toying with the idea of setting up a ‘reviews’ area of the Bloglomerate, for food, book, movie, and product reviews. As word gets out that Gleeson reviews are influential, I would get all kinds of complimentary stuff.
