The liberal elite think of Texans — when they do think of Texans — as fat guys who would enjoy shooting .45-caliber holes into a computer, then photographing the holes and putting them on the Internet. But not all Texans fit this simplistic stereotype. For instance, this fat guy used a shotgun.

Blogger Mark A. Rayner has posted the very first Carnival of Satire. Unlike, say, the Carnival of Comedy (hosted today by Basil), which includes any and all entries whose authors think they’re funny, the Carnival of Satire accepts only satire. (And Rayner knows his satire.)

A poll paid for by the Oklahoma state GOP… measured five potential Republican nominees against Henry. Istook finished the strongest but would not win, according to the poll. In that race, Henry would beat Istook 44 to 36 percent. The other potential candidates included in the survey were Oklahoma Speaker of the House Todd Hiett, state Sen. Jim Williamson, attorney Gary Richardson and oilman Bob Sullivan.

Personally, I want Frank Keating back.

The trial of former District Judge Donald Thompson, accused of onanistic impropriety in his Creek County courtroom, starts Monday in Bristow. Among the state’s evidence will be a masturbatory device which has been sawed in half, and 180 hours of audio tapes on which can be heard a telltale rhythmic whooshing sound.
