Hi. All of our old posts are still gone. If it makes you feel any better, we can’t get at them either. We guess we should explain this blog’s horrible state of disrepair, and what we’re doing about it.
Sometime on July 26, our award-winning blog disappeared. This happened because our hosting provider had decided not to permit any blogs powered by B2evolution software. This blow hit us quite without warning, at a most inopportune time.
Springing into action, we installed WordPress software on August 8. But there is still much work to do before this blog is working again, and the work is slow going, for three reasons:
- WordPress is quite different from B2evolution. WP and B2E are both database-driven blogs written in PHP code, but their structures are different enough to make porting the data a huge job, further complicated because we had been using the “multi-blog” feature of B2E, which runs multiple blogs from one installation and one database, a feature which WP does not offer.
- Our old files are inaccessible. Our aforementioned hosting provider didn’t just disable the B2E code. Instead, they closed down the whole blog directory, containing all the images and other files. The directory is still on the server, but we cannot even access it to move the files we need! We hope to rectify this problem.
- We’re making some improvements while we’re at it. There were a hundred little improvements we were planning to make “sometime” to our old blog, so we’ll be making a virtue of necessity and improving this blog instead.
So, there you have it. Sorry for the absence, but we really are coming back, in the fullness of time. Do feel free to check in every now and again to see how far along we are.

Glad you’re back. And, glad to hear everything isn’t lost-lost…just temporarily inaccessible. Good luck.
But hey…the good new is that the gleeson blogomerate is back
Every day I’ve been clicking my link on my blog, hoping to see y’all back and today….bada bing!
Hope y’all get the issues worked out!
Well, the joys of sudden calamity and rebuilding. Hope that you enjoy rebuilding part. I know that I do. That’s a real asinine and unthoughful thing for your host to do without giving you warning before. Ugh! Glad to see the mighty Gleeson blog back. As if you don’t have enough to do. At least it’s something new and exciting to explore in PHP and SQL. Yeah for that, huh?
Welcome back! You have definitely been missed! Best of luck with the recovery of your website!

Good luck with the new blog!
